INTRODUCTION:
Hello! My photographic journey into the American Southwest started
about four decades ago, at 26, in the summer of 1968. I made four
round trips by BMW motorcycle and Volvo station wagon across the American continent in
successive summers. I was working in radio news/journalism, and
teaching at the time. I shot black and white images.
Some prints I processed myself, and other work was done at labs. I was
mostly self-taught in photography, like a musician, painter, or poet, who lacks
formal training, but plays, paints, and writes well by ear, eye, and
mysterious intuition.
Forty years later I have slowed down some and do mostly color photo
art. In the summer of 2008, a new web site art
gallery of my color photo art will be under construction. I am thankful, looking back on my life, that I
was fortunate to explore the American Southwest, and create visual images to
share with folks everywhere who can appreciate them. |
